“Azpetrol” Celebrates its 29th Anniversary.
Today, "Azpetrol", the company with the largest filling station network in Azerbaijan, celebrates the 29th anniversary of its operations.
İn recent years, the company has undergone a dynamic path of development, securing one of the leading positions in the country's energy sector and increasing the number of petrol stations to 109.
In recent years, one of strategic priorities of “Azpetrol” has been the restoration and expansion of its activities in the liberated territories. The company has contributed to the "Great Return" process by establishing modular petrol stations in regions such as Zangilan, Fuzuli, Jabrayil, Shusha, Lachin, Khankendi, Hadrut, Asgaran, and Sugovushan. These projects serve the economic revival, infrastructural development, and employment growth of these regions.
Over the course of 29 years, "Azpetrol" has transformed from a simple petrol station network into one of the largest companies in the country, possessing a broad nationwide infrastructure, offering multi-faceted services, and integrating into regional development processes. Moving forward, the company’s primary goal is to implement technological innovations, further enhance service quality, and contribute to the development of the nation's energy infrastructure.
It is worth noting that the establishment, growth, and successful operations of "Azpetrol" were made possible by the reforms implemented under the leadership of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev toward shaping entrepreneurship and a market economy in Azerbaijan. Signed in 1994, the "Contract of the Century" laid the foundation for the country's oil strategy and provided a significant boost to the development of the private sector. The priorities of the new oil strategy, which is being successfully continued under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, still form the main roadmap for "Azpetrol's" operational directions today.
The company’s petrol station – the "Spartak" station – began operating on July 15, 1997, at the address of Block 1013, Moskva Avenue, Nasimi District, Baku.
"Azpetrol" has not limited itself strictly to fuel sales, but has continuously expanded its spectrum of services. The company's business activities include liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and compressed natural gas (CNG) infrastructure, charging stations for electric vehicles, as well as motel and hotel services. This approach has transformed "Azpetrol" from a classic filling station operator into a comprehensive service platform. High quality, integrity, transparency, and customer satisfaction remain the core principles of the company's operations.
The "Wyndham Garden Baku" hotel, owned by "Azpetrol", began its operations on October 25, 2022. The official opening ceremony of the hotel took place on January 27, 2023. Providing services in line with international standards, the hotel stands out for its modern infrastructure, high service quality, and extensive facilities. Since it opened, "Wyndham Garden Baku" has strengthened its position as a reliable and comfortable accommodation venue for both local and foreign guests.
Currently, the company operates 109 filling stations equipped with the most advanced technology covering most economic regions of Azerbaijan, 1 liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) station, and 1 compressed natural gas (CNG) terminal meeting modern standards. To facilitate the storage of fuel products, the company maintains 3 oil depots and 1 vehicle depot. The company's fleet includes a total of 167 trucks. Of these, 162 are fuel tankers, 1 is a vacuum truck, 1 is a cargo truck, 1 is a tow truck, and 2 are liquid transport vehicles. Additionally, 8 compressed natural gas posts, 4 liquefied gas posts, and 75 electric vehicle charging stations are operational.
The company's service network includes 1 hotel, 8 motels, and various catering and service facilities operating across most filling stations. Currently, "Azpetrol" employs more than 4,000 people.
